Support Rally in Front of Prison Holding Dr. Aafia in Fort-Worth, TX

On Saturday, September 18th, hundreds of people rallied in front of the Federal Medical Center Prison (FMC Carswell) in support of political prisoner Dr. Aafia Siddiqui.
 
Those in attendance were protesting the ongoing improsinment of Dr. Aafia who is serving an 86 year prison sentence for a crime she did not commit as well as the deplorable condition of Dr. Aafia's treatement behind bars.
 
On July 30th, 2021, Dr. Aafia was brutally beaten by another inmate while in her cell. That inmate struck Dr. Aafia with a Coffee mug filled with hot liquid on her face. The prison did not share the details of the attack with Dr. Aafia's family or her attorney. In fact, the only time the public was made aware that an attack even occured was when attorney Marwa Elbially visited Dr. Aafia and saw that the burn marks on her face and bruses around her arms. Marwa Elbially immediately informed CAIR-Texas' Executive Director Faizan Syed who helped get word of the attack out to the public. Desipte being a victim of the henious attack, Dr. Aafia was put into solitary confinment for nearly 60 days. She was only released from solitary confinment after her attorney protested her improsinment and after the rally was held in front of the prison.
